7 Perks of Being an Online Freelancer or Virtual Assistant

7 Perks of Being an Online Freelancer or Virtual Assistant

So, do you want to be a Freelancer or a Virtual Assistant? There's definitely a lot of flexibility in this line of work.

Some even consider it a "dream job". Why? Because it sort of is!

You have more time, more flexibility, and of course, more money.

Don't believe me? Check out these 7 perks you can enjoy as a Freelancer or a Virtual Assistant:

1. WORK SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY

Are you an early riser? A night owl? Or just someone who jumps in and works any time of the day? Being a VA allows you to be flexible with your work schedule!

2. WORK ANYWHERE, LITERALLY

Work in your pajamas, beside the pool, or while looking at the stars! Working remotely as a VA will allow you to visit your favorite coffee shop or local restaurant on a regular basis. You don’t have to be confined in your bedroom!

3. EASY WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT

Feeling kind of lazy, sick, or just tired? No worries. As long as there are no deadlines involved, you can always slack off! But make sure that when you start working on your projects, you should bring your A-game!

4. SET THE RATES FOR YOUR SERVICES

As VAs, we can set our own rates! VAs are mostly independent contractors and not employees. We’re like the plumbers or electricians who are called whenever a client needs help. We’re sort of like business owners and we provide service-based products by spending our time helping our clients.

5. CHOOSE WHOM YOU WORK WITH

This perk allows us to work with anyone, in any industry or any demographic. If you prefer to work with female coaches, so be it! If you want to work with clients from the medical industry, niche down and do so! You have the sole power to choose whomever you want to work with. Don't let others dictate anything you don't believe in.

6. WORK WITH MULTIPLE CLIENTS

If you're a full-time employee, chances are, you work 8 hours a day with no extra time to take on a part-time job. As a VA/Freelancer, we have the choice to take on more clients if we are available. Just make sure that the quality of work is not compromised in any way.

Here’s a golden nugget: Work with fewer clients but charge more to reach your monthly goals. Don’t work $5/hour and take on 20 hours a week. That’s already 80 hours a month! Instead, you can charge $10/hour for 20 hours a week. For 80 hours a month, you get a full-time salary of $800!

7. REACH YOUR FINANCIAL GOALS

It’s easier as a VA to reach our financial goals because we can charge our worth and work with our ideal clients. The highest daily minimum wage rate of a Filipino is 537php which is $11-$12 for 8 hours per day. Imagine earning this amount in one hour as a VA/Freelancer?

Told you it's a dream job or career! However, you should note that it's not an easy “get-rich-quick” scheme.

It takes a lot of time and effort to pursue this industry and to make it.

A lot of freelancers and virtual assistants are struggling to maintain and find their clients.

So, make sure that you do a lot of research before venturing into the freelancing world.
